Summary:
This session will look at what the Domestic Abuse Rule is, when survivors can apply for indefinite leave to remain under the Domestic Abuse Rule and the ways in which you can support them.
We will consider evidence of domestic abuse and the role of domestic abuse specialists in obtaining and providing evidence and expertise.
This course looks at:
• Which survivors can apply under the Domestic Abuse Rule
• The rights of survivors who have been abandoned by their partners overseas to apply for indefinite leave to remain under the Domestic Abuse Rule
• What the ‘suitability requirements’ are and how these can affect survivors’ applications under the Domestic Abuse Rule
• What evidence of domestic abuse can be submitted/must be submitted when applying for indefinite leave to remain under the Domestic Abuse Rule and the role of domestic abuse specialists in obtaining and providing evidence and expertise.
• What to include when writing expert letters to support survivors’ applications under the Domestic Abuse Rule
Duration: 3 hour session (3 CPD points) 10-1 pm
